Media Literacy

Brand names we all must get the same brand or Aeropostale or American Eagle... in order to look "cool" but those are just ways for the media to get more profit out of every consumer. The media always looks for more money and ways to get every cent of spending money. People think it's the clothes and accesories that make you look better but you can get a $15 shirt that looks the same as a $50 shirt and no one would notice until they see the icon of a certain bran. Bran become popular from more commercial that pollute every T.V. shows and set supplemental messages. Supplemental messages hit the T.V. screen of a new cell phone and within a week, more than one student at the school would have it.

  1. Simply remarkable i teared up a little when i read your last line, such a beautiful way to conclude such a touching story, the climax of your article had my heart beating through my chest, you should really think of taking up writing or going into politics. Seriously though truly remarkable I cant believe such raw talent has come out of Our very own Blackville School, your mother and father should be very proud of their very succesful young little mikey.

  2. Honestly Michael, I didn't think you were capable of such amazing work. Its actually the best work ive seen out of this class by far. When you mentioned the $15 shirt, I was touched, but when you mentioned the $50 shirt, it just blew my mind; really teared me up. You sir, have an amazing and prosperous future in the Media Studies career, because this is truly phenominal.

  3. Michael,
Your choice of words is interesting, particularly the word "pollute." The observation you make on how quickly an advertising trend would affect students as consumers at this school is insightful. In your next post explore your ideas further.
